Gang,
It's been about 2 or 3 weeks since I've been out on the hunt. Last week I had a little spare time and hit 5 small hole-in-the-wall pawn shops in my area. The first 4 shops produced zippo, nada, zero, and nuttin'. When I went in the fifth shop my expectations were pretty low. But I got down to business and started sorting thru bins. Most of this stuff I'd seen 50 times before, but I finally stumble onto a Proto yellow-handled driver and a VACO pocket driver. I went up to pay for it and the gal said "thats it?" I said "slim pickens today". She said "we've reoganized, you haven't checked everywhere yet". I said "show me". She did, and I found 6 more goodies that made my day.
So, here's my loot, all good vintage stuff with a lot of life left in them...
From the top:
S-K 3/8" ratchet, 45170, ca. 1958-1961, a little rough looking but works great as is,
Wright 3/8" flex handle, 3438, ca. 1973, complete with tootsie roll handle,
Crafty 3/8" flex handle, U-circle (Plomb/Penens made), ca. 1944-1948,
P&C 1/2" x 9/16" shorty offset DBE, looks to be WWII era in bare steel,
Proto 3" x P1 with the classic yellow handle in good shape,
VACO 3" x 1/8" blade, A103-3, pocket screwdriver,
S-K 1/4 drive x 3/8" 6pt, chromed/knurled,
MAC 1/4 drive x 9mm 12pt, modern chrome cylinder with simple knurl.
Total cost = $5 out the door. A good days haul after a long dry spell.
