square nuts

Try finding a triangular washer sometime...the hardware store folks look at you funny and start making surriptitous phone calls to the local mental hospitol...

(They are used on the bottom ends of certain outboard motors....they like fall into the ocean...)

Can anyone shed some light on roughly when square bolts and nuts stopped being in general use, Thanks Jim
