Today's Finds -Updated, Friday May17th!!
« on: May 12, 2012, 05:57:14 PM »
Today's finds included:
1. A 9 1/2 Milwaukee True Fit Tool Forge Co. 1/2-inch ratchet; did this ratchet come in a tool kit?

2. A 6-inch P.S.& W. Samson monkey wrench in unused condition; and

3. A 4-inch high figure advertising Williams wrenches. The Williams logo is on the base and on the figure's belt buckle.

Today, my tool collecting buddy at the local flea market, Phil, came up with a little Williams wrench for the statue (see 4th picture down). It isn't the correct as per Rusty's and Bus's postings, but it does snap in and it does have a Williams logo identical to the one on the statues base. Meanwhile, I'll keep on looking for the right wrench for as long as it takes.

The complete paper weight I've viewed had a gold 1/4in. combo in his big paws.

hehe, "Muscle Man"

I hate to tell you this, but I think the wrench is special and came with the statue, it's not a finished wrench, it should say JH Williams on it, but doesn't have sizes and the ends aren't finish broached.
(aprox 3" )

PS: Don't know about gold, but perhaps...
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

It's a neat little fellow for sure.  You'll be sure to see the wrench on Ebay for $499 now that it was discussed publicly its needed/wanted :)

It's just one of the few "down sides" to open public discussion IMO.  I say "down side", but market value always lands nearly square on supply and demand.  We've just not always been able to get on a loud speaker and tell the world its in short supply and we demand it :)

Good luck in the search.  I'll keep my eyes peeled for small odd Williams.  I'd not be happy either until it had that wrench in it's hands.  Nice find!

I have seen the Williams guy on ebay before but I don't think I have ever seen one with the wrench. Nice find!

I acquired twenty of the Williams advertising statues some eighteen years ago, NOS in original boxes (sold the last extra one a few months ago). Below is a scan of the instructions that came in the boxes.

Wrench measures .240 inches wide where it fits into the hands. So if you can come up with a Williams that wide it should fit.

Thanks, Bus.  I'll start looking ASAP. What color are the wrenches, gold?

Bob

The ones I had were plated like regular wrenches.

I might have one if you need me to look. Might be a Superwrench though. I think I have the most of those.

Got a passle of ignition wrenches this year.
