Not sure about the saw itself, but the Speedomatic tool series was from the early 50's...
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Looks like a 1st generation with the flip guard.  Retractable guards came out around 1950 so it predates 1950.
I'll have to look at mine, the handle on yours looks to be very early production.
Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance!

You might wander over to Old Woodworking Machinery (owwm.org).  There are a couple of Porter-Cable guys there who can probably give you a more precise date.

Include serial number and any other information from the number plate when you post your question.
