Just the Fifties onward, still try to block out the 70s.  But, my father was born in 1911, and made sure I knew about working with horses,  fixing harness, driving Model T Fords, seeing the revenooers tear up a neighbors still, not going anywhere without tire chains and log chains, the red dirt clouds of the dust bowl, riding on freights, The New Deal, Pearl Harbor, VJ day, selling apples on street corners, running from railroad bulls, getting electricity on the farm, getting indoor plumbing, and just trying to make do with what you got.

1950 forward for me.  I remember the 1950's fondly.  Still have a thing for all things 1950s.  Still own a 1952 Chevrolet pickup.  Still own a 1950s vintage phone.  Still married to a 1952 vintage wife.  Have acquired many 1950s tools.
