I have this plane. The blade is marked American Beauty. There are no other markings. My research can up empty on American Beauty. The plane is nothing special and measures 13" long. Anybody heard of this maker..they may have only made blades.

After further review...there is an U in a circle on the top side of the bed below the adjuster..that should ake it easy for everyone but me. I am adding more photos.

rusty

It is the name of the plane also, but I don't know anything more about the name :(
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Totally stumped on this.  Never saw one, never heard of one.
Looks almost like a Shelton adjuster, but not really.
It has a 1860's look about it.

EDIT: Egad!! Typo I totally missed!! 1960's, 19 !!

   Could be newer.

American Boy planes were fairly common. I wonder if it was the same outfit? Definitely isnt as old as any american boy's Ive seen though. Yours has a lateral adjuster. Its a nice looking plane though.

Dont know if this helps at all but the lateral adjustment lever look like a Sargent (though not quite clear in the pictures)

Heres a link to a lever type study....  http://www.brasscityrecords.com/toolworks/graphics/plane%20id.html

Thanks fliffy...I opened the page you sent and at the bottom they show stamped frogs and my plane has this type. Like I said the plane is nothing special but I have never seen the American Beauty iron before.
