This is a vintage ice chipper with multiple picks! This 4 pronged ice chipper was most likely used to break large ice blocks into smaller chips for drinks, for ice cream makers or to pack around food or other items to keep them cold. Overall, this ice pick measures 9 3/8" long and has a metal protrusion on the end that may have been used to crack ice. On the back (or is that the front?!) are the words "Lightning, North Bros Mfg Co. Phila PA USA". The top appears to be made of cast iron and the handle is wooden. The wooden handle has lost all of its paint over the years and has some chips missing from the end near the metal protrusion - another reason I believe that this end was made for cracking ice.
