Remembering Mike Imel, aka mikeswwrenches
« on: May 27, 2024, 04:50:52 PM »
Good folks, I've been informed of the sad news that Mike Imel, Tool Talk's mikeswwrenches, passed away Sunday morning, May 26 2024.

If you knew Mike, please share any stories or memories you have here. Thank you, and may his memory always be a blessing.
Somehow there's always someone who can do things thought impossible, simply because they do not realize that they should be incapable of the achievement.

I had many conversations with Mike Imel via Tool Talk messages , and via email. I always enjoyed our chats , and he was a big help to me with my foray into vise collecting , especially the smaller Wilton vises. Rest in peace, Mike Imel.

Sorry to hear that he passed. I only conducted one "deal" with him, several years ago. But that was all it took for me to conclude he was a very generous individual. RIP Mike buddy.
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

Dang !!!  I havnt visited in  awhile and I stopped by today and saw the news about Mike.
Very sad to hear this.  I did some buiness with him locally a while back. Had a chance to see some of his collections, very nice.
Meet him a couple of times at the Florida Flywheeler events.  He would be there with his motor home and had an extensive display of clean and  interesting tools. He used bright  clean 1x12's and ladders(?) I believe  and his display looked like it  was at a  tool show. I always looked for him by the tractor pulls.
He was always promoting the Mid-West Tool Collectors Association. Dang, big loss!
