This needle? Is 13 inches long with a 4 ½ inch handle. It is very well made. The handle looks like ebony. Any suggestions?

Seen similar used to stitch up livestock.   Had to use a Visegrip to hold a smaller needle, the hide is that tough.

Possibly a rib stitch needle.  Fabric covered aircraft had the covering stitched to the wing and empenage ribs to keep it from peeling off in flight.
