Great find on the Xcelite Set, It's missing the needlenose and side cutters but those should be easy to come by.

Are the Colt clamps the ones with the round cam?  I have a similar clamp at work and it has been very useful.  What make are the box end wrenches, Lou?

Hello, Al. Yes the Colt clamps have the round cam. That set of small box wrenches is Indestro.

Hi Lou,
You did good!! Really good.
Those “V” shaped corner clamps are not common. They were a patent by J. L. Taylor, November 30, 1909, no. 941,825.

The Colt patent was 792,758, issued June 20, 1905.

I had one pair of the Taylor’s, the only ones I had ever seen until yours. They bring a decent price on the ‘bay. I have yet to run across any of the Colts.

Who made the little Drill Press? My first guess would be Goodell-Pratt then Millers Falls.

Hello, Mike. Thanks for the reply, and the Patent info! I believe the Colt clamps were made in Batavia, NY, so they seem to pop up here in Syracuse. The guy that sold them to me didn't know what they were, so after I paid him, I put the clamp on the corner of one of his tables, ( with his permission) and  it held there nicely!! Good guess on the Drill Press!! From my research so far it looks like a Millers Falls No. 22 Universal Drill Press/Stand. Adaptable to their hand drills, 2 or 3 of the MF Hand Drills will work with the No.22.

Fantastic finds!  Those Craftsman wood chisels bring a nice price on that auction site. You can almost make more selling them separately
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

Nice find on the Xcelite set. Here is mine that I found a few years ago at the late lamented Tahoe flea.

Hello, Don. Thanks for the photo, yours looks to be in great shape!!  I'm going to try to clean the pouch, it was in the bottom of a bin at the flea, some type of oil got on there. Hoping to find a few of the missing pieces, although I don't think I've ever seen an Xcelite adjustable!!
