Hammer Mold

I was told this is a hammer mold ( from the guy that sold it to me  :grin:). Just wondering if anyone has seen one like this before!!  Thanks!!!

For cast and therefore useless hammers (unless they're lead hammers, in which case, yes, maybe useful)?

Looks to be a mold for casting .50 cal. round balls, think muzzle loading. Unless it is huge, need something in the pic for scale comparison.

Hello, John k . Sorry, I usually put a ruler in the photos for scale. The cavities are are approx. 1-1/4" in diameter, and taper slightly about halfway down to around 1-1/8". The depth of the cavities is 1-1/8". Thanks, Lou

is there a hole to pour metal in to each mold?What is it made of, the old lead hammer molds I have are cast iron, 3 & 6 # hammers

This one is steel, it's a beast at 21 lbs.!! There is a channel that feeds each mold, so it looks like all 6 cavities could be filled at the same time!

any non-steel hammer....think bronze, brass, lead, or aluminum.
