US screwdrivers

I call them US screwdrivers for they are in the original box with the government stock #.   Not sure why the military needed a precision jewelers set, but radio, radar, techs had a need surely.   Sure wish the one missing wasnt.  Found them at an estate sale.  Just under $3, so dont think I was stung too badly.  The hex heads are plastic,  and turn freely.   Dont think I will see another set.  Anyone have a set?

They resemble Starretts, although Starretts don't usually have plastic heads.

Nice set. Are the plastic heads grey or black? I recall that most of the screwdrivers that were in the Army issued tool kits (TK-101) that I used in the 70's had grey handles. These were made by various manufactures, probably contract specs. Does anyone else recall these or have come across them?

That looks like a US Government/ Military stock number on the box.

NSN = "National Stock Number" - just plug the number into Google with "NSN" in front of it:
