Working on the 1959 Indian (Royal Enfield). There is a long stud that extends thru the frame with badly mangled threads on one side. The stud holds the frame parts together and also mounts the exhaust pipe. It is very tight, maybe from rust or just frame tension, so driving the stud out would damage it more. I will replace the stud but I need the bike to run now. The thread pattern is British Standard Cycle thread 5/16-26. I have a die but it is a round die and the thread is so bad I could not start the die squarely. Other wise I would start it and turn it with pliers or something. So I made this tool from a bushing, a washer and and Chinese 1/4 drive socket. It's a bit crudely made but it worked great!
