Nice!  I didn't know CAT was identified as C.T. Co.  And I've never seen a die cast gage, something I'll have to watch for.  The bending tool end also has size markings.

I’m glad you figured out the initials. I thought for a long time that there was a possibility the the C.T. stood for Crescent tools like their Cee Tee pliers but it didn’t really seem like one of their products. My .030” is missing.

Did not know that Cee Tee was Crescent.
They were in GM tool kits; right?

Yes, in 6” and 8”. During WW2 they were either cad plated or black oxide finish. These are cad plated.

2me it was no brainer, 25 years examining old Caterpillar serial number tags.  Never seen or remember a tool marked C.T. Co. though.  You think the gappers were giveaways?

All round spark plug gauges I've ever seen have been two thin sheet metal stampings riveted together.  Die casting seems like a weak material for that, not so much for the gauges as for the electrode bending tool.

I believe potmetal ones were the earliest then going to stamped steel like you mention. I agree with your strength reasoning with the bending area.  Thanks.
