Haven't been in a pawn shop in years....
« on: October 16, 2021, 03:32:22 PM »
I decided it was high time I be able to leave my jail cell here at home, and thought what better to do than go dig in a pawn shop for a while.  Over the years I had kept most pawn shops around here sucked dry of what I wanted of it.  I haven't been though in several years now so I was hoping today might produce some good finds.  Sure enough.  I will show them in more detail in another reply to this thread.

My $20 - 2 hour dig.

This is a "Bechtel Corp"  9/16 combination wrench that smells like Proto.  First for me.  I assume it was made by Proto and branded for the Bechtel Corp.  Any insight here?  Is this common to do this?

I have seen industrial machines with tools branded to match, often by Williams

Also Dresser owned SK for a bit I wouldn't be surprised to see oil field tools, made by SK and branded for industry

and Scaffold wrenches branded for  specific steel companies are prized by ironworkers ( Bethlehem steel for example)

good to see you back

Lately have had better luck with the Habitat stores, and some estate resell shops.   Older, better quality tools, even power tools.  Found a couple of estate closeout sales this past summer,  it all has to go, so it goes cheap.
