Found this little guy in a parts cabinet
« on: November 08, 2020, 05:07:19 PM »
The cabinet was soaking in what smelled like kroil, but sticky, soaking many years. I soaked in green cleaner for a while and  looked under the magnifying lamp, could not read it. Then I thought my phone now has a magnifier... bingo!

Nice save, with what may be the largest-pitch gauges I've ever seen!

oldgoaly, nice find!  See page 40 in catalog for your pitch gauge.

You say, "a parts cabinet."  At a yard/estate sale, or in your shop?

from an auction, 2 9 drawer plastic & metal parts cabinets came in the lot. Still going thru the drawers mostly  screws, nuts and bolts a few automotive point sets and condensers.
The best thing so far is the thread gauge.  Bunch of old 22 l.r. bullets. No I haven't tried them. Some of those old rounds can be fun, barely makes it out the end of the barrel or knocks me on my arse and everywhere in between! I had a few bullets that were killing ground hogs at a hundred feet, dropping coyotes at 75' (didn't kill them bastard but wounded them, so they died a few days later.)

1 is in good shape other is broken, but I'll fix it.I've been sorting stuff while doing some electroplating  experiments. Really want to do nickel plating.
