Hello dear experts in tools.  Let's talk about these tools.  I'm interested in the year of production.  These are my grandfather's tools.  In 1907, he returned from immigration to the U.S.A.  I assume he brought this instrument back in 1907.  Could it be so? The crescent is chrome plated - is it factory chrome plated?

Are you sure it is chrome plated, or is it a nice nickle plating?

Yes, I did.  It says that the finish is simple steel.  And I think I have a thick layer of chrome.

I did a little poking around. The Crescent wrench company started in 1907 so it is possible.  The Bahco was more likely acquired in Europe since Bahco is a Swedish Company.  That particular wrench was made some time between 1885 and 1900ish.

Found an interesting law case from 1917 where Crescent Tool Company filed a suit against the Kilborn & Bishop Co. to restrain K&B from manufacturing and selling a K&B adjustable wrench.

The court ultimately decided against Crescent, but the decision statements note that Crescent Tool Company organized in 1907 and put it's adjustable wrench on the market in December 1908.
