Chain/belt guard?
« on: September 09, 2020, 09:51:14 PM »
Howdy folks, a friend of mine has this large whatzit piece of metal, looks like it might be a chain or belt guard or maybe fan guard? It measures 46" in length and 6" in width, ferrous metal. Thanks!

Looks like a fan guard off an old compressor.

From a semi or a tractor maybe, or a building?

Lol, no no you're not getting me with that

Thanks for the help everybody, more a curiosity than anything. He thinks someone might want it to repurpose.

How many of you remember Norm Grawbowski ? I bet papaw does. He was a hot rodder in the 1950's and later a actor in many films. Big chunky guy with a flattop hair cut. He built the hot rod roadster that Edd ( Kookie ) Burns drove on the tv show 77 Sunset Strip. He also built a truck called a Henway. Worthless info, just thought I'd toss it in for the heck of it.

Oh yes! Cannonball Run .Grabowski was known as a wood carver, and many hot rods and custom cars feature his unique hand-carved skull gearshift knobs.

Was it the Light Four model?

Now, a reference to Kookie - that doesn't come up often.

I knew papaw would remember Norm G. You got to have been around awhile to remember Norm G. or Edd (Kookie) Burns.
