Blohm Tool Chain Indicator Holder
Papaw:
Found this in a box from an estate sale some years ago.
Chain indicator holder (Not magnetic) for mounting an indicator to align direct driven equipment to the driver. Appears to be unused.
I wonder if it has any value.
Look at pictures.

Pretty clever.

Hello, Papaw. That is a cool looking tool. I have never seen one before, so I won't guess at value. Here is a link for a current Starrett Chain Indicator Holder.

gibsontool:
They are a good tool. Back in the mid 90s our company built a MDF plant which had lots of direct drive couplings. At the recommendation of our head millwright we bought at least 2 and maybe 3 of these, I not sure but I think they were Starrett. They worked well and were still in decent condition when we retired. We gave them along with quite a few smaller tools to some of our top men. I think we had 2 different sizes but I would think yours should be worth at least $50. We retired in 2008 so I don't know how accurate my estimate is. Good luck with it, someone on ebay should jump on it. Jim.
Papaw:
Don't find any Blohm on Ebay either for sale or sold. Lots of Starrett, and almost all are magnetic base.
