The current issue of Knife Magazine has an article you might be interested in. It's about Billings & Spencer in general and their knives in particular. I don't know if you can see it on line without being a subscriber. If you can't see it  I may be able to scan it. Thanks

Bruce, Thanks for the B & S info. I think if you look on the AA site you’ll find most of the info you ever wanted to know about B & S, including the 3 knife patents.

The "butterfly" folder was a new one for me. I didn’t know they made one like that. A little searching will show some actual examples. From what I could tell it is pretty rare. DATAMP says it was not made.

DATAMP entry defaults to "NOT KNOWN ... " unless the data steward composing the entry can supply manufacturer / maker information.  As one of the data stewards, I've entered many patents into DATAMP that fit my area of interest without knowing if they were produced or not.  If I'm lucky, someone will know more about that patent than I, and will use the contact link to get in touch with me.  I currently have an ongoing exchange with someone who knows a whole lot about the evolution of one brand of ratchet wrenches & will supply me with enough detail to get that run of DATAMP entries filled out.  In the mean time, several patents show "not known ... " - Regards, Stan Schulz, DATAMP data steward.

Lee Schechter, the author of the Knife Magazine article, credits Alloy Artifacts as a source for his article. There are photos of different knives in the article. They are extremely rare but they were made. Thanks
