Just landed this!
« on: March 07, 2020, 04:13:26 PM »

Could not pass it up.  Made by Cragstan in Hong Kong.  Oh and apologies now for the Japanese wrenches below - I like them, and use them.
The plane came from Come Again, a second hand store north of Syracuse, a very small store but half the store is tools.

Spid (brand) brush with brass plated steel wires.  The socket is square on both sides, but is not a "square socket", it's some kind of joining piece.  What is it?
Dunlop pliers - must be blasting pliers.
Three magnetic screwdrivers - I am trying to find better quality magnetics.  I'm looking for a strong magnet, lots of storage in the handle, and a very precise well made cap.  Not sure any of these are winners, but maybe the yellow handle job.  Black handle driver is Magna-Tip Corp. Buffalo, NY.
Craftsman bar and box wrench in 6mm x 8mm.
No name driver - only the number on the handle...

On to the next stop - an estate sale in a Syracuse warehouse.

Rusty S-K socket tray.  Toy tools - Slikka from England.
Two flashlights - working! with batteries - the big one is a Bright Star, made in USA.
1/2" Fuller (Japan) combo completes my set at work now 3/8" thru 5/8".
A.B.C.  (Japan) double open ends, 3/8 x 7/16 and 1/2 x 9/16.  Beautifully made and well plated.  I have a small set of metrics.
Blue-Point Box-socket wrenches in 3/8 and 7/16.
1/2, 9/16 and 5/8  long tappet(?) adjusters - the 1/2 wrench has very small stamp on handle "Indestro Corp Chicago".  The wrench heads are marked "Super Quality".  They are also stamped on head "LT-16" , 18 and 20.
Oh yeah,  there's an 11/16 deep socket, Craftsman, that I want to try on these weird Kohler spark plugs at work.  I thought they were 18mm, so I bought an inexpensive 18mm socket, but it seems to be a loose fit. 17mm will not fit but 11/16 will fit.

Made in England toy tools, nicely cast in zinc or zamac, the adjustable wrench works very well.  DCMT, Ltd., later known as Lone Star Products the company made a lot of cap guns.
A nice day out, sunny for a change, still cold but not bitter cold.

The joiner could be for a distributor wrench:

Cute airplane.  Nice finds otherwise, too.

I like the wire brush, of all things.  Looks plenty useful.

Bill, the socket looks exactly like the one in your picture.  I'll have to stop back and see if the wrench ends are there.
Northwoods,  I've been using a Spid brush at work and it seems pretty tough.

I have one of those wire brushes.  You have to be real careful with it, or you will overclean stuff.

The blasting pliers appear to be a DuPont No. 2
