Second Hand Store Auburn NY
« on: January 07, 2020, 10:11:29 PM »
Stopped in to "Grandma Jaree's" after work and came home with these.  The plastic tray appears to be wrench holder which I may find useful.

A set of Tomahawk wrenches (Walden-Worcester made).  These things have the finish of Japanese motorcycle wrenches but the shape and size is nearly identical to Barcalo Buffalo USA.  I know they're not related but maybe W-W copied the Barcalo pattern.  The Tomahawk is about an 1/8" shorter.
Does anyone have the missing sizes???  I'd be interested in completing this set.  There's a 11/16 + 19/32, also a 1/2 + 7/16.  Maybe others?

Does anyone recognize the tire iron?  The box ratchet is part of some tool - it says RAISE on one side and LOWER on the other.  An unmarked hand vise.  And a Craftsman wrench C-1725-A.

Tomahawk was a cheaper brand name for Walden tools in its later years.  Have no idea if there was a relationship with Barcalo.

Hi coolford.  I didn't mean to imply a relationship between Tomahawk/Walden.  Just that the style may have been copied from Barcalo.  Also the size range seems to be the same as that style Barcalo.

Al: I can't read the sizes in your picture so I don't know what you have.

I have:
1 x 15/16
7/8 x 13/16
3/4 x 5/8
11/16 x 5/8
11/16 x 19/32
9/16 x 1/2
9/16 x 1/2
7/16 x 3/8

Hi skip,  I am missing the 11/16 x 19/32 and the smallest one, 7/16 x 3/8.  PM me, I'll buy or trade.  Thanks. Al.

Years ago at a Portland Oregon flea market I saw a little metal box on a table with other tools. The box was marked TOMAHAWK. The wrenches were little like ignition wrenches. I didn't have much money, so I thought I would look around first to make sure I did not miss out on something better. I came back a few minutes later and they were gone. I believe I have a few of the larger TOMAHAWK wrenches around here and I know I have some ARROW wrenches also.

Hi evil,  Sometimes you have to pick stuff up and walk around with it while you shop.  You can always put it back.  Never heard of Arrow wrenches.  I'd be interested in finding the two Tomahawk sizes mentioned above.

Never heard of Tomahawk wrenches till this thread, then saw one in a pawn shop loose tool bin on Friday. Didn't grab it as it was a size I think you said you had. 7/8" and something.
Almost looked like a cadmium finish.
