Saturday Estate Sale
« on: August 06, 2019, 06:17:02 PM »
Hello, I was able to  get to an estate sale on Saturday, in between end of work and a graduation party. The seller is a friend, and he had previously contacted me about the tools. I told him some were on the mark, and would appeal to end users. The other stuff was high, and that is what I found when I got there. He was going to have a half off sale on Sunday, so it was late in the day, and I got the Sunday pricing. Everything but the sparker, and a D-J Tools combo, is Craftsman USA, mixed logos, some complete sets, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2" drive. A few -V=, -VV-, but mostly G logos. All have never been used, and nearly all  are metric. I am not sure if the fractional sets sold earlier, but I have never seen this many metric tools in one place!!! Regards, Lou

I assembled a spare set of G code metric sockets to back up my Bonneys and S-K's. (Straight G - no G1 or G2). And they had to have the grayish chrome - brite silver mirror is later and possibly Chinese. I wanted all USA stuff.

Solid tools. I'm tending to grab for them more and more. Probably should secure another "spare" set. lol

Two is one, because one is none.  Classic collector attitude.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

I find a lot of Craftsman at estate sales in the San Francisco Bay Area, much of it metric. I only pick up the US made stuff. These are my finds on Thursday and Friday of last week at two different sales. These will mostly be made into sets and go on eBay to fund the vintage tools I collect.
