Have a few of these, I picked up some years ago, 15?   Do not see them as often now.   Also have a near complete  set of the J.H.Williams and son, NY.

The wrench may be relatively common, but it would appear that the Chicago marking is uncommon. I looked through AA a bit and found no mention of Chicago. Brooklyn and Buffalo were their main locations. I put the link below if you want to take a look. A closer examination may reveal something I missed.

A near complete set of everything?  Is there a logo or trade mark for  "J.H.Williams and son, NY. " tools?

Looking through AA - M-310 9/32 - Drive "Midget" Socket Set there is a picture of the full socket set. The logo on the inside lid clearly shows J.H. Williams & Co "The Wrench People" Buffalo - Chicago  NEW YORK. Noting that the words Buffalo and Chicago are in lower case but NEW YORK is in upper case, is there a Chicago within NY state? Being from Down Under i do not know if this could be the case. Cropped AA Image attached. Cheers

Hello, Wrenchguy. Here is a link to some of the J H Williams history. The streets  in the ad are correct for Brooklyn and Buffalo. I believe the 3rd address was 1000 West 120th St, Chicago, Illinois.   http://maggieblanck.com/BrooklynRedHook/Williams.html  Regards, Lou

From Garage Journal posting.

Whitman Barnes tool forges in Chicago acquired by Williams around 1920.
All oval logos used until about 1924, then the underline scroll logo was used.
So the "Chicago" oval logo used around 1920 to 1924.
Are Chicago oval logo wrenches somewhat harder to find?
