Greetings from KC, MO
« on: March 06, 2019, 08:26:34 AM »
Hi All,

Actually, I'm from a podunk town just north of Kansas City.  Just want to clarify.

Found this site while researching some tools. I'm an avid auctioner (not auctioneer).  My hobby is to go to farm auctions and buy cool tools.  A lot of times, I'll have to buy a box of stuff to get the one or two things I want, and then I try to resell what I don't want in order to keep what I want and hopefully break even in the end.  It's a fun game.  My other hobby is woodworking, for which I buy the aforementioned tools.

Many times I come across tools that I am unfamiliar with and would love to find out the history and the value.  I'm hoping this site will help.  I'm willing to add my limited knowledge of woodworking hand tools to mix.

Thanks.

Welcome! Are there many farm auctions out your way? I went to many an auction. Almost all of the auctioneers knew my name and bought me stuff when I wasn't there. Won a bet that I could make one auctioneer loose his concentration. I got cussed over the loud speakers he got whooped upside the head by his wife for cussing. Ahhh we all had a good laugh!!! R.I.P Ted!

Welcome from the great North Woods of NE Kansas.
Glad to have another Midwesterner here on the forum.
You busy this Sunday at 10;00 AM?  This auction is just south of Topeka.

Thanks for the warm welcome all.  I believe I will enjoy my stay here.  When I have some time, my first order of business is to dig through my bucket of old wrenches and see if you guys could tell me if I have anything or if they are all destined for the dollar box at our garage sale.

Northwoods- you got me drooling over that auction.  Only an hour and a half away, but unfortunately I am busy this Sat. Maybe next time.
