I just can't help myself....
« on: January 22, 2019, 11:21:52 PM »
Went to Steak and Shake for supper, as usual I stopped by the Goodwill thrift shop. Dammit, I need to stop doing that, look what followed me home this time. Imperial Tubing Set, #375-FS  Manufactured by The Imperial Brass Mfg. Co.  Chicago, IL.  Set flares tubing from 1/8" to 3/4". Box is a little rough, but complete including instruction in the lid. I had to pay $4 for this set, couldn't talk them down like I normally do. ;-(   Now, anyone have a clue as to what this set might be worth? :-)

I think they are still in business as Imperial/Eastman, I have a flaring set and a couple of small space tube cutters. The best in the HVAC world for many years.

I have an Imperial set in a orange box (also rough) that is not as long but twice as deep.  Paid $8 for it at a place that does clean-outs.

Instead of two flare blocks they often come in boxes with a tubing cutter.  I pick such up often in box lots and sell them at a local junk shop for $7.50 to $10.00.

OK, so $4 was a good buy, but not a "You Suck" deal! Only set I have seen that covers a wide range of sizes. I mostly did automotive brake tubes and they were 1/4 -3/8"
