I've never tried repairing a pocket with a screwdriver.  Can you explain the technique?   

If I put a screwdriver that size in my pocket, it would wear a hole in it within five minutes.

Wish i knew.   I gave it a quick rub with a scotch pad (no genie); and no markings either that i could tell.

Any other clues to look for?   At 4 inches long they didn't have a lot of room to write a book.

Judging by the blade shape it could be a Tobrin. They don’t always have the triangle with the blade length. This is an 11 inch handle stamped version. The German ones have that blade shape as well but most of the ones I’ve seen are marked Germany.

42- Look closely on the shaft and see if you find markings there curling around the shaft.

I just went and gave it a good going over and don't see any marking on the handle or the shaft.  Being only 4" long perhaps they didn't see a need.   I guess I'll just have to keep it for a while and check it again.   

thanks...   don't think i've seen that mark on any.
