Todays purchase
« on: December 01, 2017, 07:45:19 PM »
Have cut back on buying thing but stumbled onto this and had to bring it home.   A Black & Decker Workmate 200.   Was hiding in the back of the Habitat store.  The particle board top boards have been wet and are distinctly ruined.   For obviously having been wet the frame is not rusty, anywhere.  Still folded up,,  the legs swivel down.  The name is still plain on the cross piece.  Really didn't need it, got 3 more including the first series.  I really like using these things.   Just working outside I'll set one up to hold tools, so I am not bending over so much.  Oh the crank handles are plastic and the threaded vise rods are shiny, no rust.   Maybe it was stored upside down in the wet?  Also picked up a tight clearance hacksaw, pictures to come.  Did I do bad for less then eight dollars?

Yeah you did good. Even if the top of the workmate is bad enough to be replaced you still walked away on the good side.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

Great buy!

My Workmate self destroyed itself when I was doing some oxy-acetylene cutting.

I've never used a Workmate but always wanted to try one - or two.

Great find at a great price!!!!! Very handy to have around the house, and I usually throw one in the truck when I am setting up for a carpentry job at another location. Regards, Lou

Screw a 2/4 cleat to the center of a piece of plywood and clamp it in place.  Presto:  work surface.
