Montgomery Ward/Lakeside Question.

I already have a Lakeside wood plane, probably made by Stanley branded as Montgomery Ward/Lakeside. Recently, I gave an old hammer head found in the basement a closer look, and noticed the Lakeside mark on that.

Who made what products that were branded as Montgomery Ward/Lakeside?

I would be interested in some of M-Wards history also. There is a lot of info on Sears / Craftsman tools, but little of M-Wards. I know Wards had tools with names like Wards Master, lakeside and Riverside.

I have/had some Lakeside stuff also, and as I remember, the logo was in script, rather than block letters. I'm no help on the makers though.

A pic would help. Wards used different manufacturers throughout the years.
If it's old enough it may be lakeside forge and not Wards.

According to Wikipedia - The original Montgomery Ward was from 1872 to 2001.  After they closed the "intellectual property" was sold to DMSI and the brand was used to create an online marketer, beginning in 2004.  Swiss Colony now owns the brand.  They mentioned they might bring back PowrKraft Tools.  Probably they would be made in China.
