Complete Mossberg Set

Very cool set. The little tabs that hold the wrenches in place are a nice touch. Amazing they haven't been broken and lost. That is a fine specimen.

I guess I should have bought that Mossberg ratchet I saw today for 50 cents.

50 cents?? Sellers throw that stuff in the garbage can at the end of the day if it doesn't sell. You would have given it a good home I bet. There are a lot of ways to calculate and compare the 1920 dollar to the 2011 dollar and it depends on how you do it but, roughly, it would take 25 2011 dollars to equal 1 1920 dollar.
In other words, if you could hop in the time machine and go back to 1920 or so to buy yourself a brand new $2 Mossberg ratchet, you will need to take 50 2011 dollars with you. The reverse of that would be, if the original owner wanted to hop in his time machine and travel to 2011 to get his Mossberg ratchet back at the price you saw it for, he only needs to bring 2 1920 pennies with him.
Careful, this kind of thinking can cause the brain to overheat and possibly do permanent damage.

them old sets are really nice but i have several incomplete sets and have advertised for months and can not find the right sockets to complete the sets. i have had a lot of answers but to get a complete set together has been nerve racking. it is not a simple job finding the right ones  but if you like a challange go for it. i have about 6o doubles on sockets from mossberg, hinsdale, armstrong,chicago and others but there are so many different styles it is tough to get a set really complete.
I even have a lot of sockets that are unmarked  both pressed and forged that could be put in to make a set but to me it would not be the complete set.it is always that last socket or extension that breaks your back     good luck   bob w.

amertrac, are you needing any with the capital A inside a triangle (Armstrong?)? I have some of those and some unmarked ones that I'd be happy to part with for shipping cost if it helps. I'll take a look and post a picture if you'd like.

Well amertrac, it figures I don't have any of the ones you listed in the PM. Here's what I do have. The tall one is marked "21/32 No. 101 27/32".
Number 2 is marked with an "H" (is that Hinsdale?), can't see a size, but could be an inch. Numbers 3 through 7 and 9 are all the capital A within a circle, which you can kind of make out in the pictures (is that Armstrong?). Size on number 3 is 15/16, 4 is (didn't stamp completely, 27/32?) says 2/3, number 5 is 13/16, 6 is 27/32, 7 is 25/32, 9 is 11/16. Number 8 in the picture is stamped RAY? can't make out the 3rd letter, could be an X? Anybody know? Anyway it's size is 5/8 and number 10, can't see a mfr mark but the size is 19/32.

I found a complete set of Mossberg wrenches, ratchet, sockets, even the screwdriver in the original wooden box at the antique store. Common enough to find the wrenches, sure, but the entire lot?!? Anyone know more than I do? Priced at $80, cheap i think, should I run back to the store and grab it?
