life is not great
« on: April 12, 2017, 04:33:28 PM »
Well, my best friend, whom I live with most of the time, is about to lose her / our house due to her mother having to go on medicaid.  My computer quit working today...... can't sell or ship tools without one.  Annes car quit working today. I'm not sure how you could have a worse day, but I'm sure I can top this one off with something else, the night is young.
Thoughts, prayers, someone that's a millionaire. ... all would be appreciated!
I talked to pops, "so, pops, all I need from you is to buy a house, a new car, and a computer..... I don't ask for much, pops".  Life will go on as it always does.
Cheers
Not so happy bird

Thanks honey, but maybe there's just a time when you have to give up.
Hang in there!

Thanks papaw, but maybe there's a point where you have nothing left to give, hold onto, or try to have that one millimeter or ounce of hope left. Maybe at some point you are truly screwed.

Well if you were in southern Wisconsin the car problems are usually fixed around here for cheap or free.  Spent about half my life limping vehicles along for myself and for others as a career for a while.  Can't say much about computers as dumb luck usually saves the day for me there.  As far as the housing I am thinking of a time almost a year ago when someone that means an awful lot to me was sleeping in her truck because she was too proud or stubborn to sleep on the couch that I offered her.  Probably rambling and not helping much here but the only thing to say for sure is prayer and good music have a way of bringing one back from the edge of hopelessness more than I
should admit.  I do apologize for what is probably not much help but having felt that way myself a time or ten it just didn't seem right to not respond somehow.

I remember long ago when my buddy and I were 1700 miles from home and had $.14 between us.  But we made it.
My point is not to give you an empty pep talk, but to say, hold fast to your friend and your family, and help your friend through this, too.
We're pulling for you.

Hi honey, good music has carried us through so much. Yesterday, I asked Anne if I could play some music. She replied,  I I don't feel like listening  to music anymore."
I would say we've reached "rock bottom",  but the bottom is an endless pit. It's not like me to write you folks in such a state of desperation. But, I'm in a horrible place that I've never error been in before

All to familiar , even the rock bottom part.  One song in particular comes to mind but it always brings mixed results.  Best idea in the world
that comes to mind is live music.  If you can find a way.  It's like being plugged in to a battery charger on boost.  Haven't been that lucky for a while but from what I can remember it kept a lot of people I know going for a good long while.  Or fixing other peoples stuff til the wee hours, its almost as good.

Geez Bird; when it rains...

Sorry to hear about all the downer stuff happening in one fell swoop.  Please don't say it can't get worse; there are ways you don't really want to think about.   Think about all the up-side stuff that you still have (including pets and friends) and don't despair (I know, easy for me to say).

As for the computer...how did it fail?   Any indications?   no power, no monitor, no harddrive action when you turn it on?

I'm too far away to offer any kind of help, like trying to fix the car, which is the only thing I may be able to help with, so all I can say is from your post I know your good people and you will get thru this tough time.
Hang in their, things will get better.

And when you get back out on the web, go onto youtube and listen to Gin Wigmore singing "I Will Love You"

Everyone is so kind to me here. I truly value all of everyone's kind words to me. You all mean a great deal to me. I'm absent from this sight for, sometimes, long periods of times. It seems like I show up when I need something. ... you folks always give me that
Cheers
