Another flea market score
« on: April 02, 2017, 09:13:43 PM »
Found two small Swedish made side cutters for Bell Systems, A Dunlop DOE 3/8-7/16, an APEX 7/16 deep socket that will work perfectly for a GTSIO Continental engine FI removal, and a Lectrolite 7/16-1/2 DOE. All tools in good shape, and all for $3.

What's the story on the Bell System tools? These side cutters are absolutely the best I've ever seen.  Very, very well made.

There were also a bunch of Pennens there, a Herbrand and some Armstrongs.

If I can figure out how to post a pic, I will do so shortly.

Sounds like you did good. I own several Swedish made tools and they are excellent. Great fit and finish. I have been a flea market, garage sale, estate sale, rummage sale, auction sale, thrift store, antique store, swap meet sale shopper for 47 years and counting. I get no pleasure buying new tools, but looking for and buying used tools floats my boat. I am kinda the Indiana Jones of tools and old small gas engines.

Indy.

I have a pair of these pliers by ESKILSTUNA of Sweden.  Non adjustable.  They are my go-to pliers for light work.  Smooth handle, and very comfortable.

The Internets tells me that Eskilstuna is a city and a corporation, now known as EKA, west of Stockholm.  They began by making knives, and it seems that they have returned exclusively to that trade.  No pliers on their site now.
Here they are as part of a Volvo tool kit.
Say, is that a Bahco adjustable?

Clearly, I have too much time on my hands....

Nice score.   Bell system used to buy good tools.   No idea what they get now, but doubt it's anywhere close to what you have.
