120 days since the last post and I have finally done something with the screwdriver!
Both my sons are heavy into Cosplay and ComicCon stuff and have "build days" when they can.
I was going to work on the screwdriver last month but life again got in the way.
Today they had a build day and I was able to get things situated to work with them.
I did use the number 2 son's tailed apprentices , but that's OK for now. I trimmed and cut the walnut from an old barstool using a bandsaw, then pressed it into the cavity to fit it properly. Then after more cutting and sanding, I pressed them in place temporarily, hoping to rivet them later. I may just glue these in, though, since it is an experiment.
A bit of sanding got me close enough to a good fit. I will now try to find time to stain or somehow get an old look to the scales. Oil? Stain? Heat? What?
Not a Scott G class job, but for only my second real try, I'll take it.
