Not exactly a productive day out there.

I came home with one small Ford wrench.
But tomorrow is another day.
The ORIGINAL Northwoods.

I feel the same way, but for my week.

I went to 4 other states stopped by over 20 antique stores. Didn't get anything great. I got some common tools but nothing special. I did enjoy the hunt so it's all good thoe.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

Well, if anyone is looking for a hunt, stop by Nelson county, va.... My house is the biggest hunt on the east coast right now!!!!! I really have gotten myself into a pickle this time. But, so far my life has taught me what I'm unhappy doing, and tools doesn't fall into that category... What could possibly go wrong :) ??? !!!

Hello, Bird. Good luck with your pallets of tools!!!!!  I went to an 8:00 AM sale at 8:45, had an earlier doctor's appt., what was I thinking? Only 2 items from the ad were sold, and I was the only one there for about an hour, this never happens!!! I gathered up all of the woodworking chisels, plus more. Then, the owner went up to the attic and bought down a bin full of Stanley & Lie Nielsen planes. I bought all of the Stanley, & 3 of the 5 Lie Nielsen. He wouldn't part with the 2 chisel planes. I did come home with a Lie Nielsen No. 9 Miter Plane, which I have posted in the Woodworking Tools Forum.I kept telling myself, don't drive all the way out there, I'm glad I gave in, persistence paid off. Have a great weekend, Lou

Man, I'm pretty sure I won't be finding any Nielsen planes in my lot of tools!!! I won't be finding any bedrocks, either. I've never actually used one of those planes before.... Can't imagine they're worth the money (well, worth the money if you find them like you did). But, then again, I am someone who likes the Aussies "pope" plane, so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about! Sounds like you made out.... Any money left over to pay for that docs appointment ???

Hello, Bird. Insurance covered the doc's appointment, and I had to leave the sale to find a nearby bank. The guy I bought from was cool, he put my pile aside until I got back. All the while his 70+ mom was dragging furniture out of the garage!!!!!  Did you get most of those tools from the Donnelly's auction? I had some stuff that sold in July, and have some stuff up for bid in Nashua this weekend. Regards, Lou

Hi dear, yes, it all came from martins auction. If you had something for sale, I probably bought it:) I have mixed feelings about the guy. But, I was told once that if you don't have anything nice to say, be silent. I have a lot of mental "issues" , for lack of a better term. So, selling tools from my house is a dream come true.... Well, a dream I didn't know I had! I often wonder what it would be like to go to an auction, but I really don't like to be around people. I wonder if anyone thinks, " who's the absent bidder?" Last year, some folks on this site figured out it was me! Happy selling and hunting!!!
