MVWC Meeting & Auction
« on: September 04, 2016, 06:34:43 PM »
The MVWC Fall meeting & Auction will be held on October 28 & 29. Going to be a busy tool auction weekend as Martin Donnelly will be having his Fall Indy auction the same weekend & the Browns Fall auction will also be held on the same dates in the Harrisburg PA area. It will be interesting to see how attendance and prices will be affected by all 3 auctions being held on the same weekend.

Granted Donnelly and Browns don't have that many wrenches but many collectors have crossover interests.

Wrenching News auctions (held in conjunction with MVWC meetings) do have decent absentee bid provisions.  This fall will be a bit trickier for handling absentee bids, as I'll be on "vacation" -- visiting daughter, son-in-law & grandkids  --  in mid-October just before the auction.  Three or four days to drive to Poughkeepsie, (have an aunt to visit in the Twin Cities on the way out) &  2 1/2 - three days drive back.   My wife wants to see "New England fall foliage" this year.
The fall auction list so far (Sept 11)  looks heavy on the farm implement wrench side with lots of "orphan number" lots.

You can always stop and say hello here to Stan, You will probably be driving right through and we are only 20ish minutes from the highway.

You might miss the colors this fall, looks like the dry weather is going to make an early leaf season around here. Many have dried up and fallen off the trees already.

Well, the grandkids are the real highlight anyhow.  Although there are lots of tree varieties in that part of the country I have no personal experience with out here in the Nebraska plains.  It took me about 15 minutes to figure out one type of  tree in the kid's  "woods" -- they have roughly 5 acres of lawn, shale ledges  & trees -- is  hickory.
