Utilex.....pliers?
« on: July 31, 2016, 10:01:21 AM »
I've seen several British-made "Utilex" combination wrenches over the years, but I didn't know there was a plier tool as well...?

It is stamped NIK-NOK on one side.  And along the face of one handle there are file teeth, with a blunt screwdriver at the very end.

 that is another interesting tool.

I like the file on the handle, but it looks like you would want to wear a glove when using
 the other features.

the two side by side makes for an interesting contrast.

 I chuckled when I read NIK-NOK.

whatever you are working on, you can nick it or knock it and then file it.

Great find Bob!  U.S. pickup or did you bring it over?  Love the name!

Looks like MJD auctioned one 5 years ago.

I imported it from England, after stumbling upon it while researching the Utilex wrench. And yes, not for the first time do I find myself wishing that Donnelly would leave their old auction photos up. It would make for a valuable source of reference if they did.

Those are both interesting. What is the purpose of the curved part?  On the wrench it's the same side as the hammer, on the pliers, opposite.

He usually sends a CD out if you order the complete set of catalogs for the year. If you are a regular customer drop him a line and see if he will send you one.

Both are nail puller claws Al (my photos don't show the V-notch)
