Last weekend at the old tool swap was good to me

Lots of goodies from last weekend.  Some from the $5 box...Some not so cheap.
Left to right
T handle screwdriver/hammer (only marked patent pending)
Stevens Perfect spoke wrench
HD Smith Perfect handle hammer
Indestro Stacking wrenches
10" Kant Slip pliers

 Nice. I like that hammer especially'. I got a 8in H D Smith  pipe wrench Thurs. Wasn't carrying my tablet with my wrench inventory or I would have passed since I had three copies at home. Passed on a Deering adjustable because I was sure I had one and didn't. Oh well, it wasn't in great shape anyway. They had a Stanley 78 minus the depth stop and a Stanley No 80 and a few Mueller items none of which I bid on. They also had a bit brace (thumb screw chuck) unreadable maker with a thd die in chuck. Kinda looked like pewter rings but they didn,t look original. Didn't bid on it because I need another bit brace like I need the plague.

The screwdriver/hammer is a Crescent.  They were made in 4, 5, & 6 inch.  Several discussions of them on this site a few years ago.  I think I even have a print copy of an ad for them somewhere.  Every piece you got was worth your trip.

I have a copy of the same size marked Crescent.  I didn't know there were other sizes though.  One more thing to be on the lookout for.

Those Crescent T screwdrivers have a heck of a spring in them! From about 1915.

Yes, that was the old tools swap in Pasadena.  From what I hear, it is the last time it will be there .  Arroyo hardwoods has lost their lease.

Well...  so much for my memory.  I did have another T screwdriver, but it turns out it is not the same size.  The one marked Crescent is a 4".  I know because it is marked.  The 4" is measuring  the screwdriver portion only.  That makes my new find a 5".  Now I just need to find the 6".

Laura mentioned he might be loosing the property but wasn't sure. I usually bump into her at Long Beach so I'll get an update from her or Russ on the 10th.

Ah, interesting. I did not realize the Crescent screwdriver-hammers were produced in different sizes either.

Weren't the Stanley hammer made in the 1930's?
I have one somewhere in the tool cabinet.
