are you talking about a display for shows ?  or for your shop ?

if it is for your shop, I would make a shelf out of a 2"  X  10" or 12" just long enough to mount them or longer for a future purchase.
mounted just above eye level, but where you could reach them to demonstrate.

I have shown them with other hand cranked items at the old engine & tractor shows with a 2" X 10" plank clamped to folding saw horses.
these are just the right height where you do not have to bend down to demonstrate.

Right now they are just clamped to a roll around bench with a 6" Craftsman lathe on it.
Just wondering if someone who has a bunch has neat idea that I haven't seen? Been out replacing the septic line!
No it was pretty dry not very smelly. Lots of time for my mind to wonder. We don't have it ready for seeding but the old pipe is out new pipe in with lots of rock for drainage.  And the weather co-operated! high of 88, yesterday was 95-97 (2 degree differnce from the 2 recording spots each one is about 2-3 miles from me.
Thanks for the reply I appreciate your input! Take care!

Somewhere I saw a scan of catalog art for someone's clamp-on tool - vises, I think - on a big horseshoe-shaped piece of stock.  That would be more complicated than the simple board, and take up more space, but would be kind of cool looking.

I bought one just a few weeks ago. I clamped it to a rarely used shelf in the garage. Not exactly the best display but I still like it.

I don't think I have seen one of unused or even rarer clean spots in so long I might not recognize it

Haha it's more like a jam packed shelf I just don't use the stuff on it often. If it was a empty shelf it wouldn't be empty for long. We have only had the house a year an the garage is a mess. I call it a functional workshop but everyone else that sees it thinks otherwise.

It's got like mainly air tools an random hardware. I have a bunch of air tools I bought for my old job I don't need for my new job. I considered selling them when I moved but didn't. I figured i would have a compresser to run them. I couldn't bring my self to sell 3500 in air tools. At the same time the more I think they just sit on a shelf now. I want a compresser an it's on the list but we all know how that goes.

If a spot in my shop is flat, it's covered with tools.  Doesn't matter if they're balancing on top of vice jaws, the top of my press, whatever.  If it's flat, there's no room...........

Per Wikipedia:
In physics, horror vacui, or plenism, is commonly stated as "Nature abhors a vacuum." It is a postulate attributed to Aristotle, who articulated a belief that nature contains no vacuums because the denser surrounding material continuum would immediately fill the rarity of an incipient void.
(Means if you got enough junk, there won't be any bare spots left in your shed.)

Hi everyone, my name is Papaw and I have a problem. I suffer from a near terminal case of flat surface syndrome...  Short of putting all flat surfaces on a 45 do you have any unique suggestions?

Flat Surface Syndrome is a real thing!

Hello, Papaw. Go up!!!!  I found long narrow shelving that goes on the back of my workbenches. I clamped a board to to a row of vises, then I clamped more vises upside down to the board, not sure if I want a third row. I tried to post photos of the shop, but they would not load. Is it okay to put them in the reply to this thread? Thanks, Lou

Flat surface syndrome is why I do most of my cutting with a band saw.  Table & radial arm saws make great storage areas & take too long to clean off.
