Walden 3/8" drive breaker handle

Came across on at a pawn shop the other day. Handle looked a big thick - sign of weaker steel? Is it worth getting?

Yes, worth buying if reasonably priced.

I have a couple of these Walden ratchets & breaker bars with the beefy handles.  They are very comfortable in the hand and have shown no signs of weakness. 

Sometimes, different is good....

Went back to the pawn shop. Somebody came buy and cleaned the shelves of all the tool bins they had.

They tell me some folks come up from Mexico and offer to take everything they have for a set amount. (Won't tell me what the amount is). So, they back up their truck and all the bins get dumped in the bed. They then go to the next shop. Oh well.

I have done the exact same thing, bought every miscellaneous tool in the bins. That is why I am overrun with stuff. I cleaned out my no name sockets back in the spring, sold a box with 50 pounds worth to one guy. He also took about 125 junky screwdrivers and an equal number of wrenches.

Today I bought a Walden Wor... #1125 ell bar and 5 early WW and Bonnet sockets as well as a very old and very heavy  no name 1/2" universal socket (3 1/4") + a no name hex female riveted ratchet and a no name version of the Plvmb WF 21 3/8 ratchet (with a broken selector switch).  $4.00.
What are my chances of fashioning a new selector, using a good one as a pattern?

Zero.  Zero point zero.  After two attempts, it is clear that my skillz do not include selector switch fabrication.  But at least I have some good parts for my next adventure!

I have nothing to compare but maybe the Plvmb and Proto use the same part. You might be able to get one from Proto or the Mexican Proto.
