As you know I collect cap crimping pliers, used in mining and demolitions work. If you go to eBay and search for "Cap Crimper" there are always several of those tools that pop up. But I'm just not convinced that that is what they were designed for. But I could be wrong?

So I guess long story short I'm interested in knowing what they are too.

I sold an identical JMC marked tool on eBay last winter and called it a blasting cap fuse crimper or something like that. Had to relist it several times and lower price to just a few dollars to finally get it sold. I'm not sure if its really blasting related or maybe just for some type of electrical wiring terminals?
I've sold some actual cap crimpers marked DuPont or other brands and they all had other features for cutting fuse or a sharp point on end of handle for poking hole for cap?? I once had a cap crimper plier with a cracked jaw that I suspected was from a cap blowing up? Must have been an exciting moment at the very least if that's what happened!

They remind me of the type of crimpers that you use when building wire animal cages that crimps the little do-hicky thing that holds everything together. I have a pair some where and use them often

After I posted in this thread earlier I went on a google search and found this information about JMC (which stands for Joint Munitions Command). Still doesn't absolutely confirm that these pliers were used in demolition work, but it is becoming more likely in my mind.

I found mine and they are just like yours. Here's how I use mine. I make wire cages and these I thought were designed for the little metal crimps that holds the sides, top, bottom of the cage  together. The crimp fits between the jaws and when closed the piece is formed into a perfect circle around the edges of the cage sections. They are pretty stout crimps that do the job. I don't know for sure what these pliers were actually designed for but they sure work great for making cages.
