Tubing cutter

Does anyone know if this was part of a flaring kit? Imperial.
Saw one on ebay and it was with a kit but not sure if it went to the kit.

Sure could have been part of a kit, but I bet plenty were sold individually. Nice having a scribe on it.

So did i.

Interesting/odd design.  I would worry about crushing the tubing in that "V" cradle.  Other tubing cutters I've seen have wheels that accept the tubing, yes, in a "V" shape, but the wheels reduce friction.

I've seen alot of Imperial tubing cutters in my day, but nothing as cool as that.

Here's a set for sale on the bay, with your cutter and what looks like the contemporary flaring tools.

HeelSpur, I picked up an old used AC book at a rummage sale last week, and it has a picture of a tubing cutter listed among necessary tools that looks just like yours. The copyright is 1938.

That cutter predates the term Air Conditioning.
Back then it was Mechanically cooled and Sulphur Dioxide was popular as a substitute for Ammonia.
