recent find in bulk-pick-up trash.

Found a big (1-9/16" 10A) Bosch 11240 SDS-MAX Hammer Drill with case in the trash, checked it out, cleaned it up.  Just needed to replace the power cord & it runs great...  Now I just need to find some SDS-Max drills & chisels to test it on... 

This is the 2nd Bosch drill I found.. 1st one was a SDS+, (7/8" 6.9A) 11224VSR  just needed good cleaning & brushes. and it had SDS+; chisels , Drills, etc... 

What is it with Bosch tools?  funny I never see any HILTI tools in the trash...

All the Bosch tools sold around here are made in China.

Man, that's a lot cheaper than the Bosch rotary hammer I paid $125 at a rummage sale!

I snagged an older (1988) Panasonic microwave out of the alley trash. All it needed was the door micro-switch replaced. (It was gunked up with grease and junk and was stuck "on"). Swapped out one I had in my junk box, dang thing about boils water in 90 seconds!

Just finished fixing a very vintage demolition impact hammer, not sure what brand, couldn't find a name, but it weights about 30 lbs. a monster! 12" X 24" X 5"..  cleaned it up, fixed the trigger, replaced power cord, lubricated all moving parts, spring type retainer, got to find large chisel bits that go's with this type of demolition tool... any ideas?

Checked "Vintage Jack Hammers" on internet, looks similar to a Black & Decker model..

When sniffing around for Bosch power tools, I carefully check where it was made before plunking down hard earned money for them.  If they were free, well, that's another can of worms!!

I have a small 12v Li Ion right angle Bosch screwdriver/drill with 2 batteries and a charger that were made in Malaysia, but since they were in like new condition and only $15 with case, I jumped in.  My wife loves it for her tight access drilling applications, but she understands its torque limitations. Normally I hold out for the US made/SWiss made , or german made Bosch, being the tool snob that I am accused of being.....lol

Wow, what a beauty!

I picked up a Jet 1HP bench grinder from a scrap pile at a local steel yard... They charged me $40, which was more than I wanted to gamble on it... But, got it home, took it apart, put it back together and I have been using it to grind knife blades with a belt grinder attachment ever since :P
