A nice score for a change!
 I have not scored at a sale in the last few months, but today I was sent to an estate sale to pick up a shelf for a friend. Very little in old tools to be seen, but I spied this box of Starrett tools and grabbed it. Pictures are as found, no cleaning yet. I will clean them up just enough, then put them up for sale, likely as one unit.

I do like these.   Have you been able to compare it up to a photo of the set back when?   No micrometers in there?

I have downloaded catalogs from Rose Tools, but they don't show sets like this one. The tools look like the ones in all the catalogs.
No micrometers.

I don't think the center finder would go with the set. Can't tell about some of the smaller pieces.

Still a nice find. Is the plumb bob a no. 87? If so it is mercury filled to add weight.

The plumb bob has no # on it. It could be the mercury filled model, but I won't claim that, it could be #177. This one does have a screwed in insert inside-like a plug to keep the mercury in?

Check the right hand side of the ad.   It shows a combination square with the center finder attached.

I know the mercury filled have the plug under the top section, I don't know about the 177 but I wouldn't think they do because I always thought they were solid steel. No need for a screw cap on those.

Looking through old Old Tools Lists, I found discussion of the Starrtett #87 plum bob. I conclude that the one in this box is a #87. And, after a little more cleaning, I see No 87 marked on it. I wonder if that makes it more valuable?
