Sargent & Co. Level
« on: July 04, 2015, 06:19:55 PM »
Found a 28in. Sargent & Co. level at an estate sale yesterday.  Marked with a patent date of mar 12 1878. In comparing it to other levels it seems that Disston made these levels for Sargent. It's in nice overall shape and works well also. Just needs a little cleaning to bring out its beauty.

Nice!  I do love the way the companies added little flourishes to their tools, like the scallops on the brass plates on this one.

Yep I do too. It seems as though that attention to detail was done to say "yes this a quality tools"
