hello old friends.
« on: June 22, 2015, 08:51:27 AM »
I have not posted in a long time but I hope you all are doing well.

since money is tight for the past few years now my wife and child's gift to me for fathers day has been working in the shop and helping me find the floor. it has morphed into the same for my birthday and also the whole weekend.

This year I had done some preliminary work because I really wanted to make progress in setting up my shop.

I have to give major kudos to my wife and the effort she puts forth without any bitching or nagging.  I do a lot for my family and they pay it back in kind. I may be the only dad on earth who has an awesome day by working his butt off.

while I only got to put away about 15% of the tools I had I still found a few gems I had been looking for.

so here are the before and after pics.

I didn't get as far as I wanted but we still made outstanding progress. amazing what some white paint on the walls can do along with a new workbench and storage.

these are the after pics: amazing what paint will do to the walls.

the big thing is all the file cabinets, and kitchen base cabinets and counter tops were not there Friday. they were all taking up space elsewhere. a lot of the clutter that is still on the floor will make its way into the cabinets.

Good to see you back here.  A little white paint makes a huge difference.   Now get a bright colored marker and write on the file drawers what is in there.   Or you could find yourself forever pulling them open during a search, like I have been known to do.

looking good,  I was envious on your before pictures,  you had something that I don't have.

  "WALKING SPACE."

my garage has been filling up since 1968.

the last year it saw a car in it was around 1971

hmmmm, maybe I could get my wife to help me clean my garage & shed, more than likely,
I would have to sign a promise to get all my collectable iron out of the house,  on 2nd thought,
perhaps I should stay silent.

The only bad thing about a clean shop is it frees up room for you to buy more stuff.

I am a big believer in white paint, it brightens up a shop quite a bit.
I love the windows up top !!

my problem is other crap "NEEDS" to be done. and I can never get it done.
I have been pecking at it since fathers day but now I NEED to work on both the jeep and my wagon.
I got my tractor stuck the other day and that just cheesed me off enough to quit for the evening.

Yes, you are stuck.
How did you get it out? Have someone with a 4wd and a long chain?
