Yesterdays catch
« on: September 18, 2011, 10:33:19 PM »
Found a small pile of goodies, and only had to cough up $3:

The NOS Diamond pliers are worth $15.

How is the maker of the green handled drivers?

He's doing well now.

That water pump pliers can't be worth $15, heck, no one's used it yet!!!  Cool finds.  I've never known if the Xcellite and VACO's were worth collecting or not, so I guess they are, eh?

Nice finds, sir.

Sorry about that.  I just cannot resist a suggestive typo.

Epsteins has comparable ones for $12, but they have the blue handles.
I have a set of small Xcelites screwdrivers going, so I can't pass them up. They smell, but that's part of the allure.

I just have a thing for VACO nutdrivers. They were one of the first tools I got when I started in HVAC over 20 years ago. In fact, I still have my original yellow 5/16"er in my daily tool carrier!

I have nut drivers I havn't picked up in years, but, the VACO tools in general seem to be indestructable. I have several #3 phillips drivers that I do unspeakable things to, and they still look almost new. They have outlasted countless other home junko specials, and a few craftsmans as well...

The really weird thing is, I have never seen a slotted one....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Darn! I just saw a VACO standard slotted screwdriver today in a pawn shop junk bin. About 5-6 inches long, really bad shape.
