MVWC Haul

Well, here is my haul from the Spring MVWC swapmeet /Auction in York.  I'll list the specifics at a later time, but my favorites are the NOXON and COMET cutouts and the (2) Schrader patent wrenches (the fellers at the top with the c shaped handles).

Nice stuff!

I spy a pair of wrenching pliers, and looks like some BlueBird  (or Bergman) curved adjustable wrenches. drool!

WOW!! you guys get the neatest tools, nothing like those in Hawaii...  What is that above the WOOD? double adjustable end?

Nice grabs on the Comet and OXO. Happen to know what lot 711 brought? I know I bought a few with some absentee bids and know there were quite a few bargains to be had, like a Deere cutout for $5.

 Don't know what lot 711 brought. But know what 770E brought Brought it home to add to wall décor. Think the cheap JD cutout was broken or I might have napped off.

I think it might have had a small cracked jaw, but even then it's worth $5 all day long. Bring it out here and I'd get 40-50 anywhere I went.

I just picked up a 14" Little Giant 4-way pipe wrench like that last weekend at the flea market. Never saw one before last saturday and now you post a pic of one.

Oldtools, the tool above the Wood is a 11.5" Baxter "S" adjustable.  Its the biggest one I have seen.  It was lot 133 in the auction.

Bonneyman,

  The pliers I think you are talking about are a Vacugrip plier that I believe was used for adjusting "Steeldraulic" brakes on early autos.  It is similar to lot CB 76 item 5 (which was made by Bonney) in the auction.  It went for more than I wanted to pay since I had just purchased the Vacugrip at the swap meet.

The pliers in the second photo that look like this. Proto 234 wrenching pliers, also P&C made them.

Sort of a combination between slip joint and rib joint pliers.

Ebay lists them as "compound leverage" pliers.

That was item 900.  Listed as NO 10 GRIPSO MULTI DUTY - BASFORD S.F. USA PAT. No. 2600512 - - 7.75" different slip joint pliers. Patented by Homer A. Mead of Turlock, California.  Gripso!  What a great tool company name!

I have an unmarked pair.  I've seen P & C., Proto,  and Gripso.  Looks like the patent was licensed  or sold to several manufacturers.   

Item 901 was a P&C version of the same pliers. Listed as  P & C - 1234 - MFG. USA - USA - PAT. No. 2600512 That lisiting mentioned up to 5 different manufacturers of similar pliers. 

I love P & C's Model number 1234.  Classic!

These rarely go cheap on the 'bay.  Usually upwards of $20US.
