Tools I came across today..... FoMoCo early 50's ???
« on: March 18, 2015, 05:41:00 PM »
I came across these tools today, trying to figure out what if any is their value? Most look to be unused, as there are no marks on them from being hit with a hammer. From what I have found so far they seem to be Ford service tools specifically for 48-53 model years???????? Probably 40 or 50 pieces....... Also I acquired the item in the second picture, I found one online but it was branded Champion, the front has FoMoCo, the top has Champion embossed in the metal. I believe all of these came from a Ford Lincoln Mercury Dealership in Memphis. I am posting pictures so if anyone can help shed some light on these I would be grateful!

Welcome to Tool Talk!
Looks like a bunch of special tools that a dealer had to have to keep a Ford dealer shop in operation.

spark plug cleaner is a little more valuable than most because of the Ford logo

the dealer tools are a tough slog, they usually fit just one part of one model.

Some are quite valuable,  most not so much.

you will be spending some time on the interwebs looking up all those ford numbers, but it might be worth it.

Thanks guys! Any idea what the spark plug cleaner might be worth? I saw the Champion one but it was not actually for sale.....

Most of your tools are  bearing and seal drivers

the spark plug machine was very handy, the port on the left is where you stuck the plug to
clean it with a blast of air/grit mix.  then take an air hose and blow off the grit.

if my memory is correct, you would then put the plug in the opening on the right with the
gauge to test for any shorts in the electrode.

those were the days that stores also sold 6 & 8 packs of rebuilt spark plugs.

I love the graphics on the spark plug cleaner
