Millers-Falls Buck Rogers

Awhile back I came across this Millers Falls hacksaw, with the red plastic it is known as the Buck Rogers, (futuristic) model.  Knowing there is a plane, actually 4 planes, and some other stuff I had no inclination to start yet another collection.   Then I found this little Buck Rogers push drill.  There was one bit stuck in the top, and had no idea if there were any more inside.   For $5 I had to grab it, got the bit pulled out, and found it had six more inside.  All even the correct type.   The way things happen with me then the rest of the set will start showing up real regular in my travels, usually when I'm a dollar short.  Anyone else have any of these?

I have the push drill. Used it two days ago.  Never a dead battery to cuss about.

I thought you were talking about this type of red-handled MF hacksaw. I think I sold it to scottg who polished the thing up like a ruby!

Then I found this little Buck Rogers push drill.

There was a Craftsman version too.

Hey these are really hard to get pictures of, is why!
  Digital cameras and computer monitors either one can;t reproduce subtle colors for crap either.

 Millers made 2 different ruby hacksaw handles.
One it a true ruby. The other was called fire ruby.
Its too bad because this color is not merely orange. This thing is like glowing lava in your hands. A truly magic color.

Over 50 years old and no cracks?   Seems like some of the early plastic, if it  was good stuff is still holding up.   I have two of the Disston saws, one with plastic handle and the other nylon, both over 60 years old, and look great.  Scott thanks for the photos, had not seen those models.

I got a little crazy about hacksaws ...  Kept finding them real cheap.  I have a Disston marked hacksaw, and an identical one made after Disston sold out,  But closer to the topic, there's a Craftsman that is very similar to the Millers Falls, but with opaque blue plastic handles.  Even closer to the topic is a Wards hacksaw very apparently made by Millers Falls, but with a clear yellow plastic handle.  The most I paid for any was $4. 

The yellow plastic is pretty cloudy, and there's a place on the back of the handles that got exposed to heat, I think, and is a little deformed.  No cracks in any of them though.

to me.  heh

 I did carve some wooden handles for a few, of course.   

Been waiting a long time for the best hacksaws to come out, you know.
I have always liked them.
