My Son gave me a suprize tomight..
« on: March 22, 2015, 03:00:38 AM »
My son came home with a little surprise, he picked up this LP gas torch for me...
One of the very Old guys at his work had it in the shop, he ask about it, "said his dad collects Old tools",  so he gave it to him..
Very old, Heavy, "Propane Equipment", "L.P. gas Service", "Mutual"  "23 91 0"
I was very Surprised & Happy..  Made my Day!!!

Any info on this torch?

Has all the earmarks of a roofer's torch for small repair work.

Also looks to not have much going for it in terms of ergonomics so it wasn't an improvement over dragging a 20# tank to the job.

Appears to be refillable

Be fun to play with after pressure testing the can just to be safe.
Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance!

Not a lot of info on this, it was made by Mutual Propane Co. of Englewood CA. "One of the first refillable propane torches."
Listed as uncommon, nice torch you have there. I have seen them come up for sale now and then but I can't remember what they sold for.

Interesting torch, and not sure what is better, the idea of the gift, or the item itself.

I think the "Idea" makes the "Item" better.. definitely can't sell this one...
